Swim4Lémanhope: 133 swimmers will cross Lake Zurich to offer a new future to young people in remission from cancer
Today, June 17, thirteen companies in the Zurich region are joining forces for the fourth edition of Swim4Lémanhope. From Zurich to Rapperswil, this charity relay will raise funds for Léman Hope’s Sailing Trips .
An Event That’s Gaining Momentum
With 133 swimmers from 13 regional companies, this fourth edition marks a major milestone for Swim4Lémanhope. In just a few years, the event has firmly established itself in the nonprofit landscape and brought together a growing number of business leaders from German-speaking Switzerland. This enthusiasm confirms a strong trend: local companies are increasingly seeking to make a tangible commitment to meaningful local causes. For the participating teams, this demanding relay race is an opportunity to combine pushing personal limits, team cohesion, and solidarity. Logistically, the organization is scaling up to keep pace with this record turnout. A fleet of five sailboats will be deployed on Lake Zurich to supervise, coordinate, and ensure the safety of the swimmers along the entire route to Rapperswil, thereby guaranteeing the success of this large-scale event.
Stories that bring the event to life
Among the swimmers, two stories in particular illustrate the significance of this effort:
- The father of a former participant in the Sailing Trips Hope Sailing Trips decided to get involved after seeing his child regain confidence aboard a sailboat.
- An EY employee, herself a cancer survivor, will share a story that resonates with the foundation’s mission.
Sailing Trips
Every year, the funds raised through Swim4Lémanhope enable young people from all over Switzerland to participate free of charge in a five-day Sailing Trip . On board, they learn to sail, to live as part of a crew, and, above all, to look toward the future once again.
2026: A New Chapter for Léman Hope
This year marks a turning point for the foundation. For the first time, Sailing Trips organized on Lake Constance, bringing this experience to families in German-speaking Switzerland and strengthening Léman Hope’s national reach.
