24 hours of swimming

The 24 Hours of Swimming is an event organized by Lausanne Natation, which came into being in 1984 thanks to the impetus of Mr. Juan Antonio Samaranch, President of the IOC from 1980 to 2001. He wanted to create an aquatic event for the people of Lausanne, similar to the concept promoted by Arena in France at the time. Thus was born the first edition of the 24 Hours of Swimming in Lausanne, in the Olympic spirit and values of friendly, non-competitive participation.
